LBTBP employs nearly 100 men and women (starting at age 14) during our summer seasons to walk our 12 miles of beaches, interacting with the beach patrons and making sure that all individuals ages 12 and over have their required Long Beach Township beach badges.
LBTBP has 9 beach badge patrols: Loveladies, North Beach, Brant Beach North, Brant Beach South, Beach Haven Crest North, Beach Haven Crest South, Spray Beach North, Spray Beach South and Holgate.
While LBTBP has many beach badge checkers that reapply for their positions every year, we are able to offer employment to approximately 40 new beach badge checkers each season.
Badge Checkers work from 10:15 am to approximately 4:00 pm, with a 45 minute lunch break between 12:15 pm and 1 pm, with veteran checkers working 6 days a week and new checkers working 5 days a week (weekends included).
Applications are due by April 1, 2019, for Supervisors and May 1, 2019, for all other applicants.
If you are interested in returning as a supervisor, assistant supervisor or are a veteran checker interested in applying for one of these positions, please submit a letter to our office detailing your qualifications for requested position by April 1, 2019. You must sign up for and pass the ARC CPR/FPR course or re-certify your current American Red Cross CPR/FPR certification to be considered for a supervisor/assistant supervisor position. The course registration form is included in the application packet below.
All applicants will be notified by phone, mail, email or in person if you are being offered a position.
