Anyone with a legally registered and insured four-wheel drive vehicle that does not have any sleeping quarters and possesses a valid drivers license may apply for a permit to drive on Long Beach Township beaches. The applicant must come to police headquarters with their license, insurance, and registration and check drawn on a New Jersey bank or a money order for $50.00. The front (East Side) beaches are open from October 15 to May 15 each year. The Holgate inlet beaches are closed for a period that varies from year to year, so please check with Division of Fish, Game, and Wildlife for these dates.
